The I6A20A-001-EVK-S1CC evaluation board is a versatile high-performance DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. It is designed to support testing and evaluation of the features, performance, and functionality of Infineon\'s 6A20A-1x Digital Power Controllers. This evaluation board incorporates an Infineon 6A20A-1x Digital Power Controller with SMPS architecture capable of extending input voltage range and increasing energy efficiency while providing full flexibility in order to support many different applications. Some of the common applications include AC/DC power for motherboards, servers, networking, RF technology, wireless base stations, and medical devices.

The evaluation board is powered from an input voltage range of 90-264VAC and has an output capability of 0-20 VDC, with a maximum current of 5 A. It provides both constant voltage and constant current (CC/CV) modes for output regulation. This evaluation board is also capable of providing adjustable output over-voltage and over-current protection (OVP/OCP). The adjustable OVP allows users to set the OVP point very accurately according to their requirement. The adjustable OCP offers users control over the allowable current output range.

The included included 6A20A-1x Digital Power Controller makes it possible for the I6A20A-001-EVK-S1CC evaluation board to supply regulated, stable output voltage and current with better efficiency than standard linear regulators. The 6A20A-1x Digital Power Controller utilizes the latest Infineon core architecture, ARM Cortex-M0+, and advanced control techniques such as active voltage positioning (AVP) and dynamic active current sharing (DACS) to provide accurate and stable output voltage and current over a wide range of output power-load and input-voltage conditions. This combination of features provides users with an efficient and precise DC-DC & AC-DC power solution.

In addition to its core architecture, the I6A20A-001-EVK-S1CC evaluation board has a robust set of features including an adjustable switching frequency of up to 200 kHz, making it possible to accurately meet power demands in modern high-frequency applications. It also includes configurable start-up time delays, enabling users to select the most suitable start-up strategy for their application. In addition, the board includes features such as an inrush current limiter and brown-out function which helps to protect the circuit from power surges and low line voltage events.
