This converter is part of a family of Non-Isolated offline switchers – POL converters from International Rectifier that are recently released in the market. The ICE5QR4770AZXKLA1 offers up to 95% efficiency, wide input voltage range and extended temperature range for reliable operation in extreme environments. It also features optional pre-bias start-up and smart standby function with an LDO output which provides the highest power saving during light load instructions. This advanced POL converter supports the latest processor designs, while providing the highest energy efficiency required in many advanced electronic systems.

The ICE5QR4770AZXKLA1 is designed for powering processor cores and low power analog/digital IC’s in computing, data communication and industrial environment applications. This converter is also suitable for powering medical telecommunication, servers, switches, routers, test and measurement equipment, LEDs, UPS, etc. It works in non-isolated DC-DC conversion topology which is the most cost-effective and efficient solution for applications demanding precise regulation, continuous operation with no load and in extreme environments. Its switching frequencies up to 2MHz enable it to deliver precise steady-state regulation with low noise and high efficiency while providing flexible design options in a variety of power designs.
This converter works by controlling an internal power MOSFET through a high-side and low-side driver. It is optimized to provide high efficiency and wide output voltage range while consuming little energy. The unique design of this converter combines synchronous rectification (for maximum efficiency) and Soft recovery MOSFETs which provides additional performance benefits.
