The ICL3223IA is a low-power, low-voltage enhanced USART designed for applications in embedded systems. It supports serial communication based on asynchronous single- and multi-wire protocols, and supports full-duplex communication. It is a single-chip integrated circuit which includes an asynchronous transmitter and receiver, baud rate generator and other logic functions
The ICL3223IA comprises of a data bus interface, a bus-accessible status register and a connection to the hardware andor software flow control channels. The device combines a transmitter, a receiver, a baud rate generator, autoprotection and other features for error-free communications in a single IC. The ICL3223IA supports multiple different serial data protocols such as synchronous and asynchronous serial, single-wire and multi-wire modes. The device is fully configurable and allows the users to select the serial data protocol, frame size, and other parameters according to the application requirements.
The ICL3223IA is an ideal device for developing embedded systems which require communication between nodes.
