The ICL7650CPA is a high-performance, low-quiescent-current op-amp IC that is ideally made for instrumentation, buffer, and linear amplification applications. It is a low-power, single-supply, wide range, bipolar-input, unity-gain stable amplifier with an output voltage range of VCC-1.8V to VCC+1.8V.

The ICL7650CPA main features include: low power, wide temperature ranges from -65°C to +125°C, high accuracy, low quiescent current and high input-impedance, high slew rate, and low distortion. Its quiescent current is extremely low, and it typically draws less than 5µA at a temperature of 25°C and greater. Additionally, the amplifier has an input-impedance that is greater than 1.5MΩ. The slew rate of this device typically falls between 10 and 20V/µs.

The ICL7650CPAis designed to operate from a single, low-power supply, such as a 9V battery. The device has both real and virtual short-circuit protection and can handle up to 25mA of output current. The amplifier can be used for a variety of instrumentation, buffer, and linear amplification applications, such as medical diagnostic, laboratory, and process control equipment, Audio and Video systems and power supplies.

Regarding the principle of operation, the ICL7650CPA is a high-performance, low-voltage, unity-gain stable op-amp with an exceptional combination of low output offset voltage, low-power dissipation and high input impedance. The amplifier is configured to operate with a single supply voltage, such as a 9V battery. In this configuration, the amplifier can provide a differential output voltage range of 1.7V to 3.0V with a slew rate of 10-20V/µs.

The ICL7650CPA operates using two separate input stages: a differential pair and a common-mode current-source stage. This IC is constructed using bipolar transistors and a voltage-follower output stage. Coming to the detailed operation of the device, the differential pair stage takes a differential input voltage and amplifies it. The common-mode current-source stage nulls any common-mode voltage so that the input can remain a differential signal. The output stage then amplifies the signal and provides a differential output.
