Clock/Timing - Application Specific
ICS93777BFT is a high accuracy, dual frequency clock Programmable Clock Generator (PCG) designed specifically for use in both the video display industry, and the security and automotive markets. The ICS93777BFT is designed to provide two output frequencies (up to 256MHz per output) derived from two independent clock sources. It is also capable of providing a wide range of diverse output formats such as LVDS, LVPECL and SSTL to facilitate connections to different types of processors and logic devices. This makes it well suited to a wide range of uses such as driving digital to analogue converters, generating precision timing signals for audio processing, and generating control signals for LCD display technology.
To facilitate a wide range of applications the ICS93777BFT is equipped with multiple programming modes. The user can select from various constant frequency output sources (such as 25, 27 and 33MHz), or define a user-defined frequency using the onboard PLL. In addition, the user can make use of the programmable input dependent operation (PDO) to further enhance the diversity of the output signals. This allows the user to extend the output frequency range from as low as 4KHz to as high as 200MHz. The ICS93777BFT can also be powered from a 5V input, making it suitable for use in many low power applications.
The ICS93777BFT also utilises Synchronous Clock Select (SCS) functionality to ensure that the correct output frequency is maintained even when the input frequency changes.
