ICS97ULP877AH is an advanced Harmonic Clock and Power System IC, introduced by Integrated Device Technology (IDT). It is a single IC which integrates an adaptive-correction harmonic clock oscillator, a power multiplexer and a voltage detector. This ICs is especially innovative for its ability to reduce output power and voltage ripple. It is also used in medical, industrial and automotive applications.Working Principle
ICS97ULP877AH works on a differential clock and power network functioning. It consists of an adaptive corrected harmonic clock and an adjustable power multiplexer.The adaptive-correction clock oscillator generates an output clock signal and an input clock signal, determined by the input frequency and output frequency of the device. The multiplexer allows for selection of the output voltage by a monitoring interface and voltage selection pins. Furthermore, the multiplexer works together with the integrated MOSFETs, where the different logic levels are re-translated into Multiplexer signals.The adjustable power multiplexer supplies power in two modes; a low-power mode, which interlocks with the integrated 100MHz oscillator, and a high-power mode, which interlocks with the input clock signal. This allows the IC to supply low-power to the system, as well as conserving energy when the system is in idle.The voltage detector of the device detect actual output voltage, adjust the internal reference, and monitor the output voltage using an integrated external reference. The voltage detector allows for the input voltage to be monitored on a scope, thereby allowing it to be monitored efficiently.
