Working Principle

The IDLHK11-9079-1 breaker utilizes a thermal-magnetic trip unit. The thermal element is used to detect and respond to overloads. As the current increases beyond a predetermined level, the temperature of the trip unit also increases. When the trip unit reaches a certain temperature, it triggers the release mechanism and the breaker trips.

The magnetic element is used to detect and respond to short circuits. When a short circuit occurs, the current in the circuit increases beyond the breaker’s rated level. This causes the magnetic field to increase, pushing the trip lever and tripping the breaker.

The IDLHK11-9079-1 breaker also features a ground fault protection circuit. It utilizes a sensitive ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) to detect faults and trip the breaker.
