LED drivers are electronic circuits that regulate the current or power supplied to a high-brightness LED (HB LED) thereby controlling its brightness. IDPV-25-12 is the high voltage LED driver specifically designed for outdoor application. It provides 12V-25V High-Voltage Output without multiple serial or parallel connection.

The input power range of IDPV-25-12 is typically from 250VAC to 285VAC with a wide frequency range of 47-63Hz. It is designed to drive two series of LED lighting loads with a maximum load of 480W (240W per branch) with DC current up to 10A. It is designed for use either as a switch mode power converter for lighting applications or as a control circuit for non-lighting applications. It has a peak input power of 800W, and is designed to provide a reliable, low cost, highly efficient power solution.

The IDPV-25-12 LED driver features a two-stage dimming function. It has a 4-digit LED display with adjustment range from 0.2V to 25V. Built-in protection function includes over-temperature protection, short-circuit protection and over-load protection, ensuring safety and reliability. It is also designed for ease of installation. The detachable terminal blocks ensures correct outlet wiring and a convenient use of all types of terminal blocks.

The working principle of the IDPV-25-12 LED driver is based on the buck-boost circuit, specifically designed for outdoor applications. In this circuit, a mains AC voltage is fed through a power factor correction (PFC) stage to a Buck-Boost topology, where the output voltage is regulated by varying the duty cycle of the Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal applied to the MOSFETs and the Optimized Controller IC. The output voltage is then regulated by the Open loop configuration and the Voltage Loop Control Block.

The buck-boost topology is based on the idea of “pulsing” the voltage required to drive the LED lighting loads. The PWM pulses are generated by the controller IC to switch the MOSFETs at high frequency, controlling the amount of voltage required to drive the output load. This makes it easier to control the output voltage, as well as the brightness of the light.

The current loop control block monitors the output current to regulate the peak current fed into the LED lighting loads. This ensures the constant current output of the LED driver in all conditions and helps maintain consistent light brightness. The over-temperature protection prevents the LED driver from overheating.
