The IDT23S08-5HDCGI device has two main components: a wide-band clock generator and a flexible, low-power frequency synthesizer. The clock generator section enables the device to generate up to 8 outputs rated from 1 Hz to 166 MHz, making it the ideal solution for high-speed and low-frequency clock generation applications. The synthesizer section comprises of a PLL, voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), divider, phase frequency detector (PFD) and a loop filter. This allows the device to generate any frequency right up to 250 MHz using an external reference clock with any frequency resolution.

The device also incorporates I2C and SPI programmable modes, allowing customers to program different frequencies and clock output waveforms programmability. With the user-defined PLL configuration, users are able to generate any clock frequency from a range of 150 MHz to 250 MHz, within a frequency resolution of 1 Hz. The device supports multiple crystal inputs and outputs, allowing for a wide range of frequency synthesized (FS) clock outputs. The device also features a wide range of frequency output formats: CLK, CLK/2, CLK/4, CLK/8, CLK/16, CLK/32, CLK/64, CLK/128 and CLK/256.

IDT23S08-5HDCGI also has an adjustable output drive strength, and is capable of operating in multiple power modes. The IDT23S08-5HDCGI supports frequencies ranging from 1 Hz to 250 MHz, making it the ideal solution for many of today’s system-level applications.
