The IDT23S08E-5HDCGI is a programmable, fractional-N PLL and clock generator integrated circuit (IC) with a wide operating range. It combines a mixer, digital divider, VCO, and control logic in one clock IC and is suitable for clock and data distribution applications, as well as clock and timing synchronization and conversion purposes. In addition, the device includes a non-volatile memory (EEPROM) and two programmable, selectable sources of reference input signals. The IDT23S08E-5HDCGI is designed for operations over a wide ambient temperature range and is specified for operation over the 0-70° C temperature range.

The IDT23S08E-5HDCGI is a PLL with a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) that generates an output frequency based on the reference input frequency. This frequency is adjustable within the range of 4.0 to 600.0 MHz. The non-volatile, standard serial EEPROM memory unit provides a means of storing two complete PLL configuration settings.
