This series of optocouplers features a fast and low power consumption, which is a strong feature of the IL716B. The series of optocouplers of the IL716B incorporate a strong switching power processor, providing enough electrical insulation for reliable and fast transmission.

In operation, an input signal is transferred to the transmitter side, and this side of the optocoupler becomes active. The active side drives the light emitting diode (LED), which in turn sends a signal to the receiver side of the optocoupler.
