Fixed Inductors are a wide ranging family of electro magnetic devices or components most commonly used in electronic equipment. The ILSB0805ER3R3K is part of them; it is a surface mounted device (SMD) chip used for a variety of applications. 

This chip is composed of two coils which are wound around a ferrite or iron core. The coils are usually connected in series or parallel and their geometry, along with the number of turns and the core material, determines the inductance, the impedance, the Q factor, the sensitivity, and the temperature coefficient.

This chip in particular has an inductance range of 3.3 uH, which is rated at 24 mA (with an internal resistance of 2.1 Ohm). This device also has an excellent power capability of 1.5 Watts at 70°C. It exhibits high stability of the inductance value against temperature and current changes, and low heat generation. 

One of the principal applications of this chip is the filtering of high frequencies from a signal. This is done by connecting it to a capacitor where a circuit is constituted allowing only the frequencies wanted to pass, while blocking the unwanted ones. These kind of circuity is also named highpass, lowpass, or bandpass filters. 

The ILSB0805ER3R3K can also be used to create balun transition, which allows the transformation of balanced signals to unbalanced ones, or the response adjustment of frequency amplifiers, oscillators, and mixers.
