The INND-SS56RCB display module features a maximum viewing angle of 80 degrees and a 7 segment LED character/numeric display. The LED display is made up of 8 sections: 4 characters, 5 numeric digits, and 1 decimal point. Additionally, the module includes an attached 5-position selector switch which allows you to display a different set of numeric data depending on the position of the switch. The switch also has four pins for connection to either the external power supply or the optional serial port.

In terms of working principle, the INND-SS56RCB utilizes a combination of multiplexing LEDs and shift registers. The data is stored in the shift register and then is multiplexed onto the display. This technique reduces power consumption and is a key feature that makes the INND-SS56RCB quite energy efficient.

The back side of the display module is lined with interconnection points to allow simple connections. The connections are divided into 4 groups of 4 contacts. The first group supplies common power for the four character segments. The second group supplies common power for the five numerical segment. The third group links the shift register to the 5-position selector switch and contains the four power pins. The fourth group provides connections to the serial port.
