IR14BD is a gas sensor which is used to detect combustible gases and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) that are present in the atmosphere as well as in process plants. It can also be used to detect other gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and carbon dioxide (CO2). The gas sensing element of the IR14BD gas sensor consists of a tin oxide (SnO2) based sensing element. This sensing element is sensitive to a wide range of combustible gases. The sensing element is housed in a stainless-steel chamber. The IR14BD gas sensor has two parts: an electronic circuit board and a sensing element.
The IR14BD gas sensor operates on the principle of electrochemical oxidation-reduction. When the air being tested contains combustible gases like LPG, the tin oxide (SnO2) sensing element is exposed to the combustible gas. This causes the oxide to undergo a redox reaction. During this reaction, electrons are discharged from the oxide and an electric current is generated in the sensing element. When this current passes through the electronic circuitry of the IR14BD gas sensor, a voltage signal is produced that is proportional to the concentration of LPG in the air. This voltage signal is then used to determine the concentration of LPG in the atmosphere.
The IR14BD gas sensor has a wide application field ranging from sensing the presence of combustible gases in residential or industrial environments to detecting industrial process gases such as nitric oxide (NO) or carbon dioxide (CO2). It can be used in the automotive industry to detect exhaust gases produced by diesel engines or in the food industry to monitor food spoilage caused by methane or ethylene gas. It is also used in chemical plants for process monitoring and control applications.
The IR14BD gas sensors have a number of important advantages including accuracy, sensitivity and cost-effectiveness. It is capable of detecting LPG concentrations as low as 0.1% without any heaters or power supplies. The sensor is also very sensitive, being able to detect concentrations up to 100%. The most important advantage of the sensor is its low cost. IR14BD gas sensors are available at very affordable prices in comparison to other gas sensors available in the market.
The IR14BD gas sensors are also easy to install and operate as they do not require any complicated setting up or tuning. The Senor can be plugged in and is ready to use. The sensor has a self-calibrating feature which ensures that the sensor is always working with optimal accuracy and not losing sensitivity with time. Furthermore, the design of the IR14BD is simple, which makes it reliable and durable.
Overall, the IR14BD gas sensor is a reliable and cost-effective way to accurately detect combustible gases in residential, industrial and automotive sectors. It is a reliable tool for monitoring and controlling the concentration of combustible gases in a variety of environments. The sensor has several advantages such as accuracy, reliability, sensitivity, self-calibration and affordability which make it an ideal choice for the detection of combustible gases in different settings.
