The IRAUDPS1 is a fully-featured evaluation board for off-line DC/DC and AC/DC switching power supply applications. The board includes an integrated PFC controller, 1 or 2 switch PWM controllers, advanced EMI and standby operation, and a USB 2.0 interface for power management software and tools. Working Principle:

The main operating principle of the IRAUDPS1 is the Active Clamp Resonant Converter, a power factor correcting (PFC) topology. This converter features zero voltage switching (ZVS) and zero current switching (ZCS) of the power MOSFET, and is designed to use the maximum power available from the universal input voltage range (90-265VAC).

The controllers included on the board are the IRS2080SC, a single or dual PWM controller that features programmable frequency, maximum 2A source/sink current and integrated voltage/Switching-mode protection circuitry for improved system safety. The board also includes several additional features within the control loop, such as over-voltage protection, current limit, power limit, soft-start, and over-temperature protection, among others.

The on-board USB 2.0 interface provides a convenient way to monitor and control the converter with the Iraqi GUI and the included PC software. This includes settings such as the output voltage, the switching frequency, and enabling/disabling of the current and voltage protection features.
