It can be used to drive white LEDs, RGB LEDs, and single-color LEDs in various configurations. It also can be used to drive LED chains used for different types of LED indoor/outdoor lighting, LED lighting strips and LED bulbs.

Working Principle:

IS31LT3117-ZLS4-TR operates using inductor current-mode control. In this arrangement, a high-side current switch is used to flow current through an inductor and supply the LED load. The current through the inductor is maintained by controlling the duty cycle of the switch. A light-dependent resistor (LDR) is used to adjust the intensity of the current. A feedback control loop is developed with an external control voltage (VREF) and monitors the LED current. The LED current is adjusted as VREF is varied and the driver operates in an open loop mode.
