In gate output mode the device behaves as an open collector with a current limit of 15.5mA. The device operates in the normal fashion when the output is Loaded, the output voltage is monitored and the current limit is strictly enforced. When the load is removed the output voltage is no longer monitored, however the output is still limited to 15.5mA.

The device features undervoltage and overtemperature protection which will ensure reliable operation in extreme conditions. If a fault condition is detected the device will shut down until the fault has been cleared.
