ISL54209EVAL1Z is an evaluation and demonstration board and kit designed specifically to evaluate the features and performance of the ISL54209 Environment/Motion Sensor by Intersil Corporation. The board is equipped with an Environment/Motion Sensor, user-interface components, and programmable device or FPGA for component customization. The board provides an economically priced comprehensive platform to offer the flexibility of designing the application with virtually any developement environment.ISL54209EVAL1Z application field is mainly used for low-power, multifunctional environment/motion sensing in mobile and battery powered products. It utilizes the on-board environment/motion sensor to measure environmental parameters such as temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, light, motion, and ion-content. It also features power control circuitry to enable very low-power operation and to ensure minimum power consumption when not in use. Applications include consumer electronics applications, mobile phones, portable medical devices, medical equipment, security systems, building automation, and machine-to-machine (M2M) communication systems.The board features the ISL54209 Environment/Motion Sensor, a microcontroller or microprocessor, a FPGA for design customization, various analog and digital I/O, user-interface components, plus power control circuitry. ISL54209EVAL1Z also has USB and Serial UART interfaces which allow direct communication with a PC or laptop for programming and data transfer.The working principle of the ISL54209EVAL1Z board is quite straightforward. First, it measures temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, light, motion, and ion-content using its environment/motion sensor. Secondly, the data is read using the analog/digital inputs, then processed by the microcontroller or microprocessor. Thirdly, the design engineer can customize the board using the FPGA and various user-interface components. Finally, power consumption is controlled using the on-board power control circuitry.Therefore, the ISL54209EVAL1Z evaluation and demonstration board and kit offers a comprehensive, low-powered platform to evaluate the features and performance of the ISL54209 Environment/Motion Sensor.
