ISL6323BIRZ-T is a high performance, low quiescent current synchronous step-down DC-DC converter specifically designed for powering the modern high frequency processors and FPGAs. It allows supply voltage to be precisely regulated while still providing high current output when needed.The ISL6323BIRZ-T belongs to a special purpose voltage regulators and is designed to produce a lower voltage than the battery voltage being used as the input source. This special purpose regulator combines a typical switching regulator with a linear regulator to provide a lower output voltage with minimal input voltage variation. It has a wide input range of 2.6V up to 5.5V and 0.8V to 2.5V adjustable output. The device features low noise operation with 70mV typical voltage ripple and 130KHz adjustable switch frequency, allowing for minimal board space for filter components.The output current capability of the ISL6323BIRZ-T is up to 6A with a 1.2A internal switch for low output ripple and fast transient response. It can be shut down by logic control or by under-voltage. The device includes protection from output over voltage, over current, and thermal shut-down to ensure reliability in extreme operating conditions.The ISL6323BIRZ-T operates in MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) mode, which utilizes Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) to adjust the output voltage depending on the input load.
