Introduction - ISL6374IRTZ

ISL6374IRTZ is a high-performance, low-Iq dual voltage point of load (POL) regulator providing excellent accuracy even at extremely light load. It is designed for applications with either low-NO or high EMI DC-DC power supplies. It integrates two synchronous buck regulators, each with its own voltage mode control architecture and independent current sensing summation blocks. It also equipped with two external power-on reset circuits and two 2.5% accurate reference voltages.

Working Principle - ISL6374IRTZ

The ISL6374IRTZ comprises two independent, synchronous, voltage mode (VM) buck regulators. These work in parallel, with each regulator able to be adjusted independently from the other.Each regulator is comprised of an inner loop control, an outer loop control and an adjustable frequency. The inner loop control includes an error amplifier and voltage comparator, with the output voltage and current feedback loops both combined. This allows for stability and a fast transient response. Furthermore, the combined output voltage and current feedback loop generates an automatic input current sharing if the load is asymmetrical.The outer loop control of the ISL6374IRTZ is based on a voltage mode architecture which uses a voltage feedback loop to regulate the output voltage. This is combined with the error amplifier’s control loop to provide good line and load regulation.Additionally, the ISL6374IRTZ integrates two external power-on reset circuits and two independent 2.5% accurate references for easy adjustment and monitoring of the output voltages.
