The ISL6420IR is part of the PMIC – Voltage Regulators – DC DC Switching Controllers family.The ISL6420IR’s architecture Optimizes the system efficiency to the maximum. It is a two-phase interleaving controller in which two phases are 180° out of phase. This reduces the output ripple, improves the thermal performance, and reduces the component size. The controller utilizes a high-performance Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller and an innovative synchronous-rectifier architecture that allows the ISL6420IR to generate low operating ripple and high-efficiency power conversion. In addition, the controller is protected against excessive power dissipation and under-voltage lockout to prevent damage.The ISL6420IR integrates a high-precision 3.3V Internal Low-Dropout (LDO) voltage regulator that supplies all the tiny voltages. The LDO maximizes the efficiency and simplifies the system design. Additionally, it has a built-in calibration mechanism that eliminates the need for any external component to set the output voltage accurately. The controller also features an adjustable dead-time control to reduce the output voltage ripple.The ISL6420IR contains a robust and powerful driver circuit, enabling it to drive two external N-channel MOSFETs. The device is compatible with both a single-ended and a differential topology, making it suitable for high-current and low-frequency high-voltage applications.In terms of its operating parameters, the ISL6420IR has an input voltage range of 1.8V to 3.2V.
