The ISL76534EVAL1Z is a versatile board designed to evaluate different applications and enable design exploration. This evaluation board supports a variety of power management modes including low quiescent current standby, active mode, dynamic power control and other modes. It also enables static operation with a selectable slew rate control feature for output voltage regulation. The evaluation board provides a wide range of user-selectable parameters for output voltage monitoring and protection functions.

The evaluation board supports a variety of power parameters such as input voltage range from 4.5V to 17V; 12V/15V/24V stepdown output voltage ranges; 1A and 2A output currents; PWM dimming range from 0% to 100%; and an adjustable maximum duty cycle from 0% to 90%. The evaluation board is capable of operating as a single-supply step down (buck) regulator with 0.2V minimum input voltage.

ISL76534EVAL1Z evaluation boards come with a digital control section consisting of the ISL76534 digital PWM controller, the digital compensation element, the 1.2V voltage reference, and an external oscillator. The ISL76534 essentially monitors the output voltage of the power supply in order to maintain a stable output voltage during load switching conditions. Digital compensation allows the controller to automatically adjust the output voltage in response to changing load conditions.

The ISL76534 is fully operational at power-up and offers several features, such as a low current sleep mode and a limited power-up protection mode. It also allows for fast transition mode switching, allowing the user to select different power-up, standby, or active operation. The evaluation board also supports a variety of other features, including adjustable over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-temperature protection levels; adjustable soft-start and peak current limit functions; and adjustable PWM frequency.
