PMIC - Voltage Regulators - DC DC Switching RegulatorsThe ISL8010IUZ-T13 is a linear regulated DC-DC power supply chip with integrated control and feedback circuitry. It is designed for low voltage, high current applications such as point-of-load (POL) converters, as well as for general power conversion and management applications.The ISL8010IUZ-T13 is a switching mode regulator with a full monolithic power process and control loop. It provides high efficiency and fast transient response for high current electronic systems.The chip utilises synchronous buck topology with a high side power MOSFET switch and synchronous rectification to provide a regulated output voltage from a wide input range. The sync buck regulator can provide up to 8A of continuous output current in a small, space saving form factor.The ISL8010IUZ-T13 features an integrated loop compensation circuit allowing a very low external parts count. The internal PWM signal is based on the feedback signal derived from the regulated output voltage. The signal is then transmitted to a power MOSFET gate driver, which turns on and off the power MOSFET switch to achieve the desired output DC voltage. The current sense amplifier and comparator are used to sense the current flowing through the highside switch. The voltage drop across the current sense resistor reflects the measured current. If the sensed current exceeds the current limit, the comparator’s output signal will be active, driving the voltage of the current sense input pin low, and turning off the MOSFET switch.The ISL8010IUZ-T13 is also designed with a wide range of protection features such as UVLO (Under Voltage Lock-Out), OVLO (Over Voltage Lock-Out), OVP (Over Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), OTP (Over Temperature Protection) and SCP (Short Circuit Protection).The ISL8010IUZ-T13 is widely used in many DC-DC applications, Inverter applications, medical electronics, Post Regulators, Telecommunications systems, PC Power Supply, Industrial control systems and automotive electronics.
