The ISL8271MBIRZ-T is an advanced monolithic DC–DC converter module with integrated switch that operates from 7V to 60V input and can deliver up to 8A related power up to 6V while operating at frequencies as high as 3MHz.

Working Principle

The IC is a monolithic DC–DC converter module with an integrated switch and direct voltage regulator which operates from 7V to 60V input and delivers up to 8A related power up to 6V. The internal switch is designed to operate with frequencies as high as 3MHz.

The device starts up as soon as the input voltage is connected to the module. The internal switch is controlled by an external oscillator. Internal circuits sense the output voltage set by an external resistor divider and regulate its output voltage to within a certain accuracy level. The IC uses synchronous rectification technology to achieve high efficiency and low noise.

The IC has an internal temperature protection circuit that shuts off the internal switch, and activates the shut down (SD) output when the junction temperature reach a predetermined value. When junction temperature falls below that point, the IC restarts.
