The ISL83385ECAZ integrated circuit is a high speed differential bus transceiver which is designed to operate from a single 3.3V supply. The device provides an ideal combination of features for use in high speed communication applications up to 5 Gbps. The device is suitable for use in Fibre Channel, Serial Attached SCSI, high speed differential backplane, PCI Express and various point-to-point applications.

The ISL83385ECAZ incorporates a differential bus transceiver providing a programmable high speed, low power, low jitter set of performance features including a data rate up to 5 Gbps and <1UI jitter. This device integrates a pair of low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) pre-driver and post-drivers along with a pair of programmable receiver comparators, that enable reliable signal integrity up to 5 Gbps.The ISL83385ECAZ has several configurable integrated features, such as separately programmable receiver comparators, programmable power saving options, and pre-driver & post-driver output signal inversion, that enable different application solutions. The pre-driver & post-drivers can be used with a voltage mode logic (VML) signal structure or a differential signal structure. The programmable receiver comparators can be used in a variety of applications, such as single-ended vs differential signal comparison and signal discrimination.Also included on-chip are programmable power saving options, such as driver shut-off, receiver shut-off and receiver/driver power-down. The ISL83385ECAZ has a number of other integrated features as well, such as configurable output impedance and receiver programmability (including threshold and hysterisis).
