The ISL8501IRZ is a 5V/2.5A AC/DC constant frequency primary side synchronous switching driver with auto-restart and Enable/Disable control functions. It is suitable for PWM-controlled high voltage flyback converters in power source adapters, power over Ethernet (PoE), and various other low power offline AC-DC power supplies. It is a high performance, cost-effective and power efficient product to provide a very low standby power solution while maintaining excellent line/load regulation within minimal external components. It operates in DCM or CCM via auto-restart/Enable/Disable control using a minimum of external components.In DCM mode, the controller regulates the output by adjusting the current curves in the device and by adjusting the amount of time the MOSFET is open each cycle. The current limit can be programmed with a single external resistor, reducing the amount of components required to regulate output current.In CCM mode, the controller regulates the output voltage by adjusting the duty cycle of the MOSFET, achieving very accurate and highly efficient performance at all load levels.Features and Benefits
