An Evaluation Board, also called an EVB, is a testing platform used for the evaluation of electronic devices and subsystems. The ISL9000KCEV2 is an Evaluation Board designed to facilitate evaluation of circuit behavior under linear voltage regulation. Additionally, the ISL9000KCEV2 Evaluation Board has a temperature-compensated voltage measurement, which makes it easier to evaluate linear voltage regulators operating over wide temperature ranges. This Evaluation Board is also designed with low noise, making it suitable for high performance operational application fields.
The working principle of the ISL9000KCEV2 Evaluation Board is based on the feedback principle. It contains an optical feedback signal comprised of a photocoupler and a voltage-sensitive optocoupler. Feedback is designed to maintain optimal voltage operation by the output voltage under tolerance. A switching device controls the output voltage of the linear voltage regulators being tested with the Evaluation Board automatically adjusting the output voltage to remain within the specified tolerance.
The Evaluation Board has reference voltage and zero cross detect pins to which a current mirror is connected. This current mirror can be operated when certain voltage threshold values have been reached. The working principle allows the voltage regulator under testing to maintain optimal output voltage over its operational range. The output voltage of the linear voltage regulator being tested is monitored by a memory chip which stores the values and can be retrieved and stored for future evaluation.
The Evaluation Board also features a digital potentiometer which adjusts the output voltage of the voltage regulator under testing. In addition, the Evaluation Board is designed to be compatible with a wide range of linear voltage regulators, making it an efficient and economical solution for testing linear voltage regulators. Overall, the ISL9000KCEV2 Evaluation Board is a reliable and cost-effective tool for evaluation and testing of linear voltage regulators.
