ISL9501CVZ-T is a 3A/2A/1A step-down monolithic switching regulator controller that enables power efficiency in various power applications. It consists of a high-speed, low-cost 8V-20V linear regulator and contains a wide-range of voltage regulation, current sensing, and power sequencing features. The ISL9501CVZ-T is an ideal solution for space- and cost-constrained designs such as those found in automotive, industrial, and Consumer Electronics.
The ISL9501CVZ-T controllers feature a two-phase, two-channel architecture. This architecture enables the controller to rapidly switch to higher currents and voltages providing higher power efficiency. The ISL9501CVZ-T can drive up to three synchronous rectified buck converters. It also integrates a Sync PWM circuit to synchronize the control of multiple converters.
The high step-down ratio of the ISL9501CVZ-T allows it to provide up to 3A of output current with a maximum output voltage of 18V. This high power delivery makes it an ideal choice for applications such as motor control, automotive power supplies and industrial power management. In addition, its integrated current-sense circuitry allows it to accurately measure and control the output current.
The ISL9501CVZ-T includes adjustable soft-start, programmable frequency and over-current protection. The comprehensive set of protection features ensure the safe operation of the system. To reduce EMI and ESD sensitivity, a 2-level input voltage supply enables the controller to operate without over-voltage or over-current protection.
The ISL9501CVZ-T is made using a high-speed 0.18µm process, which minimizes power losses in the high-frequency switching operation. An advanced on-chip PWM circuit offers excellent output voltage and current performance with low noise. The ISL9501CVZ-T also integrates a series of protective circuits, including OVP (Over Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection), WRP (Wide Range Pulse Width Protection), WDP (Wide Range Duty Cycle Protection), EP (External Power Shutdown) and BT (Burst-Mode Setup).
The ISL9501CVZ-T is a truly versatile and efficient DC-DC switching controller. Its features, such as high step-down ratio, low cost, and robust protection make it the perfect choice for a wide variety of power applications.
