ISL97653AIRZ-TK is a highly-integrated multimarket automotive power management IC (PMIC) from Intersil, providing a complete array of power supply products and interface functions for various kinds of automotive systems. As one of Intersil’s PMICs, the ISL97653AIRZ-TK offers high power efficiency, stability and reliable, low-power performance for automotive applications.

The ISL97653AIRZ-TK offers an ultra low standby current, high output voltage accuracy, and flexibility to adapt to different temperature ranges to ensure reliable operation in harsh automotive environments. This feature-rich device integrates an adjustable output voltage buck regulator, two MOSFETs, three low dropout linear regulators, two voltage reference generators, logic controlled system reset generator, LED brightness control, and two comparators.

The adjustable output buck regulator is ideal for managing power supply for movie, audio and graphic signal processors, and CAN transceivers, by varying the output voltage. The two integrated MOSFETs enable the outputs to reach very low currents, while the linear regulators ensure stable output currents. The adjustable output buck regulator, combind with the two MOSFETs and the linear regulators, supports a wide input voltage range from 16V to 60V.

ISL97653AIRZ-TK has LED brightness control for PWM dimming of LED lighting and lamps. This PMIC not only regulates the brightness level of an LED, but also offers a constant current source for lamp operation. The output voltage for LEDs and lamps can be adjusted from 3V to 41V. For system resetting, this device offers an output pulse width generator and an adjustable turn-on/off delay.

ISL97653AIRZ-TK has two voltage reference generators, creating stable references for linear regulators. The two voltage reference generators adopt a bandgap reference circuit to ensure accuracy and stability. The voltage reference can be adjusted between 1.2V and 2.5V. The two comparators provide window detect capability, and allow the system to take emergency action when necessary.

The ISL97653AIRZ-TK is ideally suited for automotive power management applications, such as infotainment systems, instrument panels and lighting. Compared to traditional discrete solutions, the integration of the ISL97653AIRZ-TK power supply can greatly reduce the design time and cost for automotive power management applications.
