ISO7710FDW Working Principle

ISO7710FDW digital isolator uses iCoupler technology in which field induced electron tunneling through an isolation barrier is used to achieve high efficiency, low external parts, and ±10kV/μs common mode transient immunity. It provides galvanic isolation up to 3750 V PE / 1 minute per UL1577, with an ultra-low power input and a low-voltage CMOS output.

The isolator contains digital signal processing & data encoding, an LED emitter, an integrated transformer, a phototransistor detector, a reference floating power supply, and a logic section. The input signal is modulated by the LED emitter and then detected by the phototransistor detector through the integration transformer, the signal is then decoded and transferred to the low-voltage CMOS output.
