Working Principle

The ISO7761FDW is a digital isolator that uses a field-clocked design to provide isolation. The ISO7761FDW features a photocoupler, an integrated CMOS circuit, and a bypass capacitor. The internal CMOS circuit consists of two NMOS transistors, each with two independent exchange points. It also features a user-testable alarm.

The LED emits light which is sensed by the phototransistor and causes it to turn off. When the phototransistor is turned off, the electric potential in the transparent chamber increases causing the transfer of electrical charges from the output side to the input side.
