Working Principle

The IWD1212 DC DC Converter utilizes a buck inductive boost switching topology with MOSFET and Bidirectional switches to provide and regulate the output voltage. The switching frequency of the converter is made adjustable. The switching frequency can vary from 20 KHz to 130 KHz depending on the required output voltage. This allows the converter to fine tune the output voltage to achieve an optimal trade-off between the given output power, the converter\'s efficiency and the acceptable system noise. The input voltage is applied to a Buck inductor and output voltage is delivered to the output through the MOSFET or Bidirectional switch, depending on the required output voltage. The Bidirectional switch is used to boost the output voltage above 5.5V while the MOSFET is used for lower output voltage. The converter\'s output is regulated by two variable frequency oscillators that determine the switching frequency of the converter.
