The JCM1548D05 is a high efficiency DC-DC converter which is the latest generation for the widely used and successful ECO1548 series released with improved thermal design and efficient heat sink. It provides an easy to use solution with a wide range of input and output voltage settings for a variety of applications. It is designed to maximize energy efficiency and power density while providing maximum design flexibility.The JCM1548D05 DC-DC converter is designed for use in a wide range of DC power supply applications, including computing, embedded applications, telecom, industrial, medical, aerospace and defense, and automotives. It is also suitable for use in Home Automations, Networking Security Appliances, and LED Lighting applications. The JCM1548D05 uses a fixed frequency (360 KHz) Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) switching mode power supply topology. It utilizes a high efficiency buck and buck-boost converter circuit to offer a high power density and a wide input and output voltage range.The converter outputs a fixed output voltage of 12V with a maximum output current of 5A and a standby current of 10uA, while the wide input voltage ranges vary by model as follows: 9.8V to 16V (DC/DC Buck Converter); 13.2V to 24V (DC/DC Buck Converter); 10V to 18V (DC/DC Buck-Boost Converter); 19.2V to 36V (DC/DC Buck-Boost Converter). The output voltage is adjustable ranging from 4.5V to 14V +/- 5% for the Buck and 5V to 18V +/- 5% for the Buck-Boost. Efficiency is excellent, up to 95% with low input voltages and up to 88% with high input voltages. The JCM1548D05 also features safety and protection features, including under voltage lockout, overvoltage protection, over-temperature and overload protection and current limit, which provide superior protection against accidents or overcurrent conditions protecting the converter and the load from damage.The JCM1548D05 offers a number of additional features, including a trimable output voltage for fine tune the output voltage, output voltage monitor for safeguarding the system, and an optional remote shutdown mode for efficient system design.In conclusion, the JCM1548D05 is an outstanding DC-DC buck and buck-boost converter specially designed for the applications mentioned above with high efficiency, small size, wide range of input and output voltage and built in safety and protection features providing the user with an easy to use and reliable converter.
