JTK2048S12

DC-DC converters are electrical circuits that convert direct current from one voltage level to another. The JTK2048S12 converter is a series of full-bridge DC-DC converters for operating with a wide input voltage and 85 to 265VAC input. Its on-board integrated safety functions include soft start, over-voltage, over-current, short-circuit and overtemperature protection. With its high switching frequency, the JTK2048S12 can manage a high efficiency level providing a clean and stable output.

Application Field

The JTK2048S12 converter is most suitable for powering loads in industrial applications such as distributed power systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), telecom rectifiers, in-building power applications, solar power systems and other medium or changing power systems. It can also be used in a wide range of applications such as industrial automation, medical, test and measurement, motor drives, UPS developments, security systems, retail, telecommunications, laboratory, and consumer electronics activities.

Working Principle

The JTK2048S12 power supply operates by transforming the energy from a source with a certain range of input voltage connected through terminals C and D into an adjustable efficacy voltage on its output terminals A and B. In order to make this transformation, it needs to convert the direct current of input voltage into alternating current, then filter and rectify it to obtain a direct current output voltage.

The functioning of the converter relies on a full bridge network of active switches (integrated MOSFETs). This bridge is responsible for the power conversion step of alternating current into direct current. A high frequency switching of an oscillator toggles the open and close switching of the transistors of the bridge with a high frequency periodically. The result is that the output voltage is set to the desired level with proper efficiency.

Input power is isolated from the output using transformers or EMC filterings, and the high-frequency switching action ensures a precisely regulated voltage when loads vary. Power factor correction is available upon request. The integrated low-voltage protection turns off the converter when the input voltage at C and D is lower than the adjustable protection threshold.
