The KA555ID is a versatile programmable timer and oscillator from Linear Technology. It\'s a combination of a timer/oscillator in a single package, allowing for a wide range of uses in many applications. It can be used in applications such as precision timing, frequency counting and frequency synthesizing, as well as providing a very accurate time base for pulse width modulation (PWM) or frequency modulation (FM).
The KA555ID timer/oscillator is capable of providing both a variable duty cycle and a variable frequency output. Clock pulses can be generated from either a crystal oscillator or from an internal oscillator, allowing for precise timing and control of the output waveform. The KA555ID can be programmed to produce a frequency from 0.1 Hz to 10 kHz, a duty cycle from 0.002% to 99.998%, a phase to phase tolerance of ±1/2 LSB and an output voltage of 0.2 V to 3.3 V.
