KHR application field and working principle is an important topic which plays a significant role in the world of electrical, specialty fuses.A KHR efficient thermal protector (ETP), also known as a thermo-magnetic circuit breaker (TMCB) is an electric safety device consists of an overload protection element, an overload release and an overload reset mechanism. These components are all contained in a single assembly, and they work together to reliably trip and reset the overload currents quickly and efficiently.The primary purpose of a KHR ETP is to protect electrical circuits from over currents by cutting off fault current and return the circuit to normal operation when the fault current has been limits. As the overload currents can cause damage the power supply, fuses or KHR ETP provide efficient protection. ETPs are especially designed to protect high in-rush currents such as found in motors, contactors and transformers from being overladen. In addition, KHR ETP can be used for emergency power failure protection. Because of their ability to interrupt a specified value of current, it can rapidly disengage embedded devices to provide emergency power failure protection.
The KHR ETP contains a fusible-link wire coil which is the actual thermal protector element. The wire coil is heated up with the current passing through it. When the fusible-link wire coil reaches its melting temperature, it melts and a reset mechanism (which includes an electromagnet) releases the lever. The lever is then tripped off the main switch, interrupting the current supply.The force produced by the electromagnet is released when the fusible-link wire coil melts, and the lever is quickly reset back to its original position and close the main switch. As the fusible-link wire coil cools, the reset mechanism will automatically reset the lever back to its original position, thus re-establishing the circuit.The KHR ETP also works as a thermal fuse. If the current that passes through the fuse exceeds the rated current for a certain time, the fusible-link wire coil will break and the circuit will remain open. This ensures that the circuit is protected in the event of an overload or short circuit.
The KHR ETP can be used in a variety of applications such as air conditioning and refrigeration, pumps and compressors, motors, transformers, electrical relays, compressors, blowers, fans, circuit breakers, contactors, remote control circuits, submersible pumps, etc. Aside from protection from over-current overloads and short-circuits, it also provides thermal protection.In conclusion, KHR ETP has several advantages over conventional circuit breakers.
