The working principle of the KMD40-55 AC DC Converter is based on Electric Motor Control Theory. The input power is rectified in the AC Phase Bridge. This rectified DC voltage is fed into an Opto Isolator, which picks up the trigger pulses from the rotating motor’s rotor. These trigger pulses are then sent to the chopper circuit, which acts as a switching device to convert the AC voltage to DC voltage.

The DC voltage is then sent to a Linear Voltage Regulator to adjust the duty cycle of the switching device. The duty cycle is adjusted by a digital reference circuit to ensure the proper DC output voltage. From the Linear Voltage Regulator, the DC voltage is again sent to a Chopper circuit, which converts the DC voltage into a Pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal. The PWM signal is sent to the Phase Bridge, and the pulse-width modulation drives the motor with a regulated DC voltage.
