KPSE07E22-21PY works based on the switching power supply principle. The whole system consists of two subsystems — the power input subsystem and the power output subsystem.

The power input subsystem consists of an input EMI filter, DC input bridges, and isolated DC DC converter. The input EMI filter filters out different magnitude of higher harmonic components and high frequency interference. The DC input bridges rectify the AC input so that a rectified continuous DC input is obtained. The DC to DC converter converts the rectified DC to DC output through its unique magnetic core, switch technology, transistor, filter networks etc.

The power output subsystem consists of an output isolation transformer, feedback circuitry, and output filtering sections. The output isolation transformer is used to isolate the input from the secondary side of the converter. The output rectifies the filtered PWM wave generated at the primary side and produces a DC output voltage of desired value. The feedback circuitry compares the output with the required value. Any discrepancy between the two values is fed back to the primary side and accordingly the duty cycle of the switches is changed. The output filtering section serves to filter out the unwanted ripple and noise and thus ensuring a smooth DC output voltage.

The combination of the two subsystems thus results in an output DC voltage of desired value, free from ripple and noise.
