The KSZ8041FTLI-TR is an integrated single chip physical layer device specifically designed for use in Ethernet-based microcontroller (MCU) applications. The KSZ8041FTLI-TR supports one integrated Twisted-Pair Physical Coding Sublayer (TP-PCS) channel on the chip, providing single-chip connectivity to the media. The integrated Twisted pair-PCS channel provides a simple, cost-effective solution for Ethernet network interface application. The device supports both Media Dependent Interface (MDI) and Media Independent Interface (MII) compliance. The TP-PCS meets the IEEE 802.3z standard and provides full-duplex or half-duplex operation at 10 Mbps and is compatible with both shielded and unshielded media.
In addition, the KSZ8041FTLI-TR supports 10 Mbps operation with support for 802.3z. The integrated auto-negotiation logic supports multiple operating modes such as full-duplex (10 Mbps), half-duplex (10 Mbps), half-duplex (2.5 Mbps), auto-negotiate (1000 Mbps), flex-mode (10/100/1000 Mbps) and multiple languages for auto-negotiate commands. The device is also compliant with the IEEE1588 version 2.0 standard and supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) for improved power management. The device supports both legacy 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet and MAC-level flow control.
