Temperature Sensors - PTC Thermistors are used in a variety of applications to accurately and reliably measure temperature. The KT110 is an example of a thermistor temperature sensor. It is a small, robust device consisting of a ceramic base element with two electrical contacts. The KT110 utilizes a proprietary temperature sensing element which provides accurate temperature readings over a wide range of temperatures.
In operation, the KT110 consists of a metal, ceramic or plastic housing which encloses the temperature sensing element. When an electrical current is applied, the sensor produces a temperature-dependent voltage output signal which can be measured.
The KT110 is primarily designed for temperature measurement in industrial, consumer and automotive applications. The KT110 is available with a variety of mounting options, such as bar, spring and spring clip. Typically, these sensors are used for sensing temperature in HVAC systems, engine cylinders, fuel injectors, cooling fans, and power transformers. Some other applications of KT110 include sensing temperature in industrial process control systems, data loggers, and thermostats.
The KT110 has a wide temperature range of - 5 to 140℃, and a high temperature coefficient of -3.5 %/K. This makes it ideal for applications where the temperature needs to be accurately measured over long time periods in challenging environments. The sensor is also quite insensitive to humidity, making it suitable for use in humid climates.
The working principle of the KT110 is based on the Seebeck Effect. When a voltage applied between two dissimilar metals, it will create a temperature difference between the two metals. This induced voltage is proportional to the temperature difference. By applying an external voltage to the KT110, the sensor will generate an output voltage which is proportional to the temperature.
TheKT110 is a versatile, robust and cost effective temperature sensor. Its wide temperature range, high temperature coefficient, and impressive dynamic range make it ideal for use in many industrial, consumer, and automotive applications.
