> The L15S005.T fuse is a medium-voltage miniature fuse designed for the protection oftransformers, rectifiers, electric motors, switchgear, power systems, and specialapplications in industrial, commercial, and residential circuits. It is a versatile fusedesigned for both AC and DC, with high current interruption and excellent surgecapability. The L15S005.T fuse has been tested and certified to meet the safetystandards of Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the International Electrical Commission(IEC), and other applicable standards organizations.The L15S005.T is a current-limiting fuse that can protect components in the circuitagainst both overloads and short circuits. A current-limiting fuse will open promptlyand safely by limiting fault currents to a predetermined level. This reduces thepotential for equipment damage due to overloads or short circuits. The fuse\'slimiting current designates its normal interrupting capacity. A rating of 500 amperesat 600 volts AC, means that the fuse can safely and reliably interrupt a 500 amperescurrent flow at 600 volts AC.The working principle of the L15S005.T fuse is simple. When the circuit currentexceeds the instantaneous pickup value of the fuse, the internal heating elementsmelt the fuse element. This leaves an open path in the circuit, breaking the flow ofcurrent and disconnecting the circuit. The melting process takes only a fewmilliseconds, so the equipment being protected is disconnected very quickly. Inaddition, the fuse element has an anti-fuse feature, which means it will reset afterthe fault current is cleared.The L15S005.T fuse is designed to provide circuit protection in a variety of industrialand commercial applications. These applications include motor control, powerdistribution, and an array of high-voltage industrial processes. The fuse isparticularly well suited for the protection of transformers, rectifiers, and other powersystem components.
