L50S100.Tis an electrical specialty fuse, designed for safety protection purpose. It primarily used in emergency lighting where its fast response and quick-blow operations are most required. Its applications range from commercial, residential to industrial and marine.The fuse is manufactured with a time-delay series that provides instantaneous trip times at creating short circuit faults, and adjustable trip time after short circuit current has been cleared. It thus protects machines from short circuit faults, such as electric motors, input filters, fluorescent lights, and deflection cards. The adjustable trip time feature also prevents tripping when sudden large voltage and/or current fluctuations occur in the input supply.The working principle of L50S100.T is based on thermal-magnetic protection, which is a combination of both thermal and magnetic protection. This combination of thermal and magnetic protection ensures that the fuse automatically shuts off in the event of a short circuit or other overload condition. When an overload occurs, both the thermal element and the magnetic field in the fuse work together to initiate a trip action, which then shuts off the circuit and protects against further damage.The thermal element in the fuse works by detecting the amount of heat caused by the current passing through the fuse. When the current passing through the fuse exceeds the rated value, the heat generated by the high current causes the thermal element to expand, which then breaks the connection between the two ends of the fuse.Meanwhile, the magnetic element is located at the centre of the fuse. This element works by sensing the large amount of current passing through the fuse during an overload. When an overload occurs, the higher current creates a larger magnetic field that causes the plunger on the fuse to be expelled, breaking the connection between the two ends of the fuse.Due to its versatile features and protective capabilities, the L50S100.T fuse has become widely used in residential, commercial, industrial and marine emergency lighting.
