Working Principle

The L6R12-070 is a switch mode ac/dc adapter with a high power density. It integrates a low RDSON power MOSFET that can support higher currents. This makes for an extremely efficient design that delivers significantly better performance than a conventional linear adapter.

The AC input is ideally rectified and filtered before it is passed into the switch mode power supply. The high frequency oscillator is then used to drive the high power MOSFETs which rapidly switch the transformer primary’s magnetic field on and off. This induces an AC voltage in the transformer’s secondary windings. The windings provide the isolation between the high voltage and low voltage sides of the switch mode power supply and it also serves the purpose of stepping down the voltage.

The switch mode power supply is designed to have good efficiency and superior electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance. It also has a wide operating temperature range, making it ideal for industrial applications.

The L6R12-070 is also designed with safety features such as thermal protection and over-voltage protection to ensure it does not overheat or deliver unsafe voltages. It is also designed to be compliant with UL and CE certifications and is fully RoHS compliant.
