The LA-ISPPAC-POWR1014A-01TN48E PMIC-Power Supply Controllers, Monitors is a single-chip device that combines a high performance buck regulator, linear regulators, battery charger/universal power path controller (UPPC), analog/digital system monitor and general logic functions together in a single component.
The device supports a wide Vin range, enabling high-efficiency conversion with a 3A available output current. A hysteretic control technique is employed in the buck regulator, providing fast dynamic response with excellent light load efficiency. Features include selectable hysteresis, soft-start, adjustable pre-bias, current limit and thermal protection.
The device features two low dropout (LDO) linear regulators which can be used to power a wide range of digital and analog components, with an adjustable output voltage. The LDO can be enabled/disabled through the I2C interface, allowing supply sequencing of the main rail and many other subsystems.
The internal, low quiescent current, battery charger/universal power path controller (UPPC) block simplifies battery management. The device automatically selects between an external Adapter or Battery for power when available. The UPPC provides many advanced features such as a Selectable Input Current Limit, Terminate Charge voltage and Precharge Voltage guard band.
The device also has an integrated general purpose eight bit ADC block and many system monitor functions. The ADC can measure the status of many digital and analog signals in the system such as temperature, current, and voltage. These signals can be used by the MCU to monitor and control the system, while enabling features such as thermal protection and voltage fault monitoring.
