LA50QS404 Specialty Fuses are designed for use in a wide range of applications in order to protect against electrical shocks, short circuits, overloading and overheating. The fuse is also designed to provide reliable protection against fires and other dangerous occurrences which could occur due to electrical malfunction. These specialty fuses are mainly used in electrical devices like television sets, computers and other electronic equipments.The LA50QS404 specialty fuse is a thermal-magnetic device which combines two different elements - a thermal element and a magnetic element - in order to provide optimal protection from electrical hazards. The thermal element is designed to open the circuit within an extremely short time frame, typically in the order of milliseconds and the magnetic element is designed to provide optimal protection when a longer period of time is needed for the fuse to open the circuit.The LA50QS404 fuse is composed of several internal parts. The internal parts are the fuse element, glass tube, fuse holder, fuse terminal and fuse lid. The fuse element, which is a metal strip, is the central part of the fuse and is responsible for sensing the current flow and controlling the fuse opening and closing. The glass tube is filled with a special wax that softens at a certain temperature and actuates the fuse element. The fuse holder is used to securely attach the fuse to the electrical equipment. The fuse terminal is connected to the electrical components and is used to detect when a current is flowing and the fuse lid is designed to protect the internal components of the fuse from foreign elements.The LA50QS404 fuse is designed to protect against both over-current and severe voltage transients. The fuse is able to detect when the current flow reaches a certain amperage or when the voltage spikes to a certain level.
