LCD1/0-38DH-X is a durable, rectangular connector designed for a variety of applications in automotive, aviation, military and other industrial applications. It is a single-position, snap-in, keyed, polarized, low-power fused connector suitable for a wide range of power and signal functions. Connections are made by the male pins, which are inserted into respective female insert grooves; the intact connection remains secure when the hood is closed due to the presence of an additional locking bar, which is spring-latched onto the mating half. The pins, which are usually made of brass plated with gold, are positively held in check by an internal crimping mechanism that comprises of a plurality of slits. These slits, along with the male pins, form an interlocked connection when the hood is closed.

The LCD1/0-38DH-X’s fused power and signal contact system is composed of a 0.125 inch (3.18mm) diameter terminal pin and a 0.125 inch (3.18mm) fused pin. The terminal pin is a semi-hard iron plated male pin which snaps into a concealed pocket in the connector housing. The fused pin is an independent metal pin, containing an internal fuse element which acts as an over-current protection to the terminal pin.

A key difference between the LCD1/0-38DH-X and the standard LCD1/0-38DH series connectors is that the LCD1/0-38DH-X has a much larger power rating. Each cavity is rated for 5.3A current, and the LCD1/0-38DH-X is capable of a combined maximum of 25.8A current for up to eight (8) cavities. Therefore, the LCD1/0-38DH-X is an ideal product for applications in harsh industrial environments, where power and signal characteristics must be combined with the highest level of environmental tolerance.
