    The LE75183BDSCT is a high-speed Ultra Low Capacitance RF Discrete Signal Cable Protection Device from Richtek, designed for protecting EMI/EMC sensitive cables from transient electrical overstress (EOS) due to electrical fast transients (EFT), electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other electrical activities. This unique device acts as an electrical bridge that shunt the EMI signals away from the cable liner, thus protecting the cable from overstresses and EOS that can damage the cable insulation.The LE75183BDSCT is designed to offer a high speed response rate (less than 100 ns), low capacitance (51 pF), wide voltage range (20 – 100V) and low ESD clamping voltage (1.6 – 2.6V). This device is ideal for protecting the cables of many common digital and analog applications, such as CDMA and GSM mobile phones, computer peripherals and consumer electronics.The operating principle of the LE75183BDSCT is quite straightforward. The device is connected in series between the device and the cable, and provides a direct EMI shunt pathway for any EMI related transients that may otherwise run through the cable, damaging the cable insulation in the process.When an EMI transient is detected by the device, it closes a high speed switching element, which creates a low impedance path for the EMI transient, allowing the electrical energy to be quickly shunted away from the cable, thus protecting it from EOS damage.Once the transient is over, the device then resets to its quiescent state, and the pathway is turned off, thus restoring normal operation of the cable and preventing further damage.The LE75183BDSCT is an ideal choice for protecting digital and analog cable lines from EMI Overstress, and its unique design guarantees a high level of protection and performance.
