LED6001 is an advanced LED driver specifically designed to meet the needs of the current and next generation LED backlighting applications. It provides linear, pulse-width-modulated (PWM) and period modulation lighting control with two or four independent channels, and features built-in safety and housekeeping features. LED6001 can drive up to 4 LED channels with pre-programmable current and end current levels. It is designed to support low power, high power and high current LED illumination applications.

Working Principle

LED6001 is based on one or more fixed-frequency buck converters which maintain constant output current through the use of closed-loop control. An external resistor is used to set the current level at different points, and the internal circuit compensates for differences in input supply voltage. The frequency can be set externally or by a resistor. The integrated safety features ensure safe control of all LEDs in the system, including over-voltage, over-current, low-voltage and thermal overload protection, as well as fault signal output and flexible dimming options.
