LEDS12

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are an efficient alternative to traditional incandescent and fluorescent lighting. The linear or round elements of LEDs typically provide illumination in small-sized disk-shaped components or "chips". LEDs12 is a special class of LEDs developed by the National Semiconductor Company in the early 1980s. This type of LED has the unique distinction of having both a forward voltage of 12 volts, and a reverse current of 12mA.

LEDs12 are used in a wide variety of applications such as street lights, automotive headlights, and other types of specific lighting needs. LEDs12 Working Principle

LEDs12 work by exploiting the properties of diodes, a type of semiconductor which can release energy when a current is passed through them. Once the voltage reaches a certain level, the electrons of the diode jump to a higher energy level, releasing their energy as light. When this process is repeated very quickly, it produces a constant stream of light.

LEDs12 are constructed from diodes with an intrinsic forward voltage of 12 volts and a maximum reverse current of 12mA. This allows for a more efficient drive current than typical LEDs, resulting in brighter output and lower power consumption. Additionally, LEDs12 can be driven directly from a 12 volt power supply, eliminating the need for oversized or complex voltage regulation or power conversion.

The LEDs12 also have better thermal characteristics than other types of LEDs, allowing them to withstand higher temperatures and operating conditions while still providing reliable performance.
