Working Principle
LK162-12-IY-V-E can display up to 8 groups of 8-segment characters, a total of 64 decimal characters. It is made up of 4 pieces of conventional CCFL, 2 pieces of LED back light and 4 pieces of FPC drivers. The driver chips have multiplex scan logic; they are connected to the LED and LED anodeFPC drivers supporting the multiplex scan of CCFL and LED.
A typical LCD working principle is based on the electric field between special liquid crystal molecules. An electrostatic field is generated between the two sides of the LCD cell and caused a twist in the liquid crystal molecules which in turn, affects the polarization of the light passing through it. The light then passes through the polarizer which filters out the light with a polarization other than the one filtered out by the analyzer. As a result, the analyzer, which determines the amount of light that passes through, provides the effect of creating different levels of intensity between on pixel and the next.

The pixels act as a switch that is turned on or off by the imposed voltage.
The LK162-12-IY-V-E uses a technique called multiplexing where all the LED and LED anode pins are connected to the controller in a multiplexed arrangement. As the LED and LED anode pins are continually switched, the voltage is only applied to the LED and LED anode pins relative to each segment. This means that all the segments can be lit simultaneously using one common voltage supply.
